Honored Hero

Honored Heroes are very special individuals who have battled, or are battling, leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Team In Training® (TNT) participants train and race in honor of these extraordinary people.
So often people are asked to give funds for a charity with very little understanding of how valuable their contributions are. By honoring a member of our own community, and hearing their story firsthand, participants are able to understand the extreme value of their efforts.

Our Team Honored Hero is Sarah. She enjoys animals, fashion, movies, music, plays, FOOD and traveling! She was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in May 2010. Here is a letter from Sarah that we received:

To Team in Training:

I am very disappointed that I will not be able to participate as a runner this year but am hopeful that my treatment plan will allow me to see everyone at the finish line. Before I was diagnosed with Lymphoma (May 2010) I had no idea what it was. Since then I have met so many people who have been affected by the cancer and that have inspired me along my journey. I am honored to be a part of TNT and their mission to find a cure for cancer and raise cancer awareness. Knowing that I have so many people supporting me during the fight with cancer gives me great hope. Thank you for raising money and running. I can’t wait to be running with everyone next year.
